Alec Baldwin Kicked Off American Airlines, Deactivates Twitter

Yesterday, Alec Baldwin took everyone by surprise when he was kicked off an American Airlines flight from LAX to JFK. At about 1 p.m. So what happened? According to Balwin’s tweet:
“Flight attendant on American reamed me out 4 playing WORDS W FRIENDS while we sat at the gate, not moving. #nowonderamericaairisbankrupt.”
He also tweeted, “But, oddly, 30 Rock plays inflight on American. #theresalwaysunited.”
After American rebooked him on its 3 p.m. flight he then tweeted, “Last flight w American.” Followed by another tweet, “Where retired Catholic school gym teachers from the 1950’s find jobs as flight attendants.” Ouch!
But once the airline released their side of the story Baldwin got quiet and deactivated his Twitter account.
According to the airline, “Baldwin refused to turn off his cell phone “when asked to do so at the appropriate time. The passenger ultimately stood up (with the seat belt light still on for departure) and took his phone into the plane’s lavatory,” an airline statement reads, in part, on its Facebook page. “He slammed the lavatory door so hard, the cockpit crew heard it and became alarmed, even with the cockpit door closed and locked. They immediately contacted the cabin crew to check on the situation. The passenger was extremely rude to the crew, calling them inappropriate names and using offensive language.”
Will Bladwin ever come back to Twitter? Only time will tell. For now his rep, Matthew Hiltzik, says, “Alec’s focused on 30 Rock.”
